This year's event will take place from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Unity Reed High School in Manassas.

About the Event

American families average $498 in Back-to-School costs for each child, and 1 out of 3 families are unable to cover these costs. Combined with the thousands of children in Prince William County that cannot acquire the necessary vaccinations to start a school year, we have a critical issue locally regarding school readiness. The good news is the Prince William County Community Foundation has a solution.

On Friday, August 11th and Saturday, August 12th, the Prince William County Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Prince William County, VA and collaborating partners - Prince William County Public Schools will host an expanded Back-to-School Community Event that focuses on the needs of our children impacting school readiness.

On August 11th from 9 am - 5 pm, the Foundation will host a vaccination clinic that will also include dental screenings/cleanings to ensure school-aged children have the necessary vaccinations and oral health to start their new school year.

On August 12th from 10 am - 2 pm, the Foundation will host a Community Event that provides attending children with the necessary supplies to start their school year off right, including backpacks, school supplies, and food resources.
